Still Playing with Toys and producer, writer, grand poobah, and sometimes vinyl siding salesman Troy Benjamin have quickly made a mark in several aspects of filmmaking, DVD special features production, and a whole lot more. Troy currently has quite a bit of DVD special features projects in production (through his current employer Herzog & Company) and SPT's first feature film currently titled "Black Friday" starts shooting in the Fall of 2011. Want to know more? Hey, we thought that you'd never ask!

Coming Soon... Promise.

Troy currently has several feature film projects in various stages of development and he has been fortunate to have been a part of several past released feature films. Here's a quick glance at what's on the horizon and what's already passed...
In Development
Only in Dreams, the feature film version of the comic book of the same name, has been optioned by producer Brendan Deneen of Fineprint Productions. It was acquired in the summer of 2009 and is one of the handful of productions that the company is currently developing. If you are interested in attaching yourself or someone you represent, please contact Fineprint Productions by hitting that nifty contact us link at the bottom of the page.
Black Friday (Working Title), a comedy in the vein of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, is currently in development under the Still Playing with Toys label. Further information will be available later in 2010.
Plus several other projects which Troy's unable to discuss currently... we know, we know... gotta maintain the mystery, for now.
Past Productions
Because of Winn-Dixie, was the 2005 feature film in which Troy had the pleasure of assisting producer Trevor Albert from the pre-production process all the way through the theatrical and home video releases.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the 2003 film starring Sean Connery. Troy came on late in the production process, replacing Trevor Albert's current assistant and followed the film through part of the post-production process and through the home video release.
The Other Side of Heaven, was an independent film that was directed by Mitch Davis and produced by Gerald Molen and John Garbett. The film was my crash course in feature film production for Troy before heading off to Loyola Marymount and was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the production office, camera crew, and behind the scenes crew on the lovely Cook Island of Rarotonga.

Yes, it's Los Angeles and everyone has one. Once we overheard one of Santa Monica's lovely home impaired folks discussing a movie option with his imaginary friend the other day (makes sense, we would imagine you would have many stories being invisible). Anyway, here are some of the various projects that Troy is working on and has worked on in the past.

Past Productions
Having attended Loyola Marymount, Troy considers himself fortunate enough to have written and helped write several student productions including senior thesis project Romanticism Undercover, directed by Lisa Wolfson.

Since 2004, Troy has pretended to know a thing or two about DVD and Blu-ray extra content production, and so far nobody has called him out on it. Having started at the bottom, making an excellent cup of coffee and running to get lunch for the best of them, Troy prides himself for having worked on some of the largest releases of the past couple years and lived to tell the tale, including major releases for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Warner Home Video, Paramount Home Entertainment, and more.
Through his employers Trailer Park and Herzog & Company, Troy has worked on quite a few titles that might be sitting on your shelf now! Hit the link below for a full breakdown of all the titles Troy has worked on during his time as a DVD/Blu-ray special features producer.

Troy has dabbled occasionally in producing broadcast commercials and company promotional materials including spots for Walt Disney Theme Parks, Sony Electronics, and Audi of America through employers Trailer Park and Herzog & Company.
AVP/Sony Bravia Promo
Troy's first stab at being a unit production manager for an HD shoot that took place at Dockweiler Beach to promote the AVP Volleyball League and the Sony Bravia television line. The spot was produced and edited at his then employer, Trailer Park.
